I remained silent when news broke a few weeks ago that a TV show based on Roman Polanski’s 1968 classic, Rosemary’s Baby, was in the works. And now it looks like another horror classic (some might say THE horror classic) is about to get the small screen treatment.
According to Deadline, a TV show based on the undisputed classic The Exorcist may be happening. Production company Morgan Creek is shopping it around with a script that is penned by Jeremy Slater, who is currently the writer for the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. In lieu of the success of recent horror film-to-TV transitions like Bates Motel and Hannibal, this really shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone. We can only hope for comedic purposes that if there is indeed a TV show based on The Exorcist, it looks like this:
