Easily one of my most cherished 80’s horror movies has always been Chopping Mall. What started with an amazing poster transitioned into a pretty amazing movie if you like cheesy 80’s acting, robots, boobs, and a nice exploding head.  And now according to Bloody Disgusting, we will now be able to see all of that in glorious Blu-ray form!

Waxwork Records Releasing ‘Chopping Mall’ Soundtrack For Pre-Order July 1st

It doesn’t get more B-movie than 1986’s Chopping Mall.  Killer security robots, big boobs, and exploding heads = a good time!  And now all of that cheesiness from the movie is coming straight to vinyl courtesy of Waxwork Records.  That’s right – they are releasing the glorious synthy soundtrack for Chopping Mall and you can pre-order it on July 1st.

There will be two versions available:  a non-limited run of 180 gram fluorescent pink vinyl and a limited run of 500, incorporating neon yellow with neon green haze into the vinyl color.  Both variations will have art design from the Australian duo, We Buy Your Kids.  Everything, except the pink fluorescent vinyl can be seen below, so make sure to head over to Waxwork Records on July 1st to pre-order your copy!

Retro Randomness: Waxwork Records Bringing ‘Chopping Mall’ Soundtrack To Vinyl!

If you don’t own a turntable, you may want to bounce over to Ebay and snatch one up.  Why you ask?  Well, because Waxwork Records is going to be releasing the soundtrack to 1986’s killer robot movie, Chopping Mall!  Yeah, move over Creepshow (which they will be releasing soon as well), there’s a new king in town.  And that king is coming strapped with a cheesy 80’s synthy soundtrack courtesy of Chuck Cirino.

It doesn’t get more ridiculous and retro than Chopping Mall.  Not sure I’ve really been fiending for the soundtrack on vinyl, but fuck it.  It’s Chopping Mall!  And one thing that makes Waxwork Records stand out from other vinyl distributors is they really take their releases seriously and provide great artwork and limited variant versions of the records as well.  Is it too much to ask for a variant somehow incorporating Barbara Crampton’s breasts in a design?  Probably, but stay tuned to Waxwork Records for more details coming soon.

Sunday Bloody Sunday: ‘The Exploding Head Scene’ From ‘Chopping Mall’ (1986)

The Russian roulette moment in The Deer Hunter.  Luke finding out that Darth Vadar is his father in The Empire Strikes Back.  The Mrs. Robinson leg shot in The Graduate.  All of those scenes suck compared to one of the greatest scenes in movie history.  That’s right, all of you other inferior cinematic moments bow down to your master:  Leslie’s exploding head from Chopping Mall!

I’m going to tease you a little more before you can watch the clip.  Actually, I guess you could just scroll down and ignore what I have to say and watch it anyway.  But yes, Chopping Mall (also known as Killbots) is about as 80’s of a horror movie as 80’s horror movies can get.  Stupid plot.  Stupid characters.  Stupid non-scary mall robots.  And some breasts.  But what gives Chopping Mall a leg up on every other horror movie, is it’s amazing exploding head scene.  And it’s a perfect addition to the Sunday Bloody Sunday roster.  Words can’t describe it, so why try.  Click below and realize that after you watch it, your life has just officially changed:
