It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, not Christmas……it’s almost Monsterpalooza time! Mark your calendars and free up any plans you might have had May 8-10, because Monsterpalooza is indeed coming back to Pasadena, CA for another round of frightful fun. The thing I love about this convention compared to others, is that it mixes together your favorite horror celebrities AND the amazing work of make-up and effects artists.
The title of my post may have tipped you off a little to one of the celebrities attending this year, but to clarify even more – the one and only Clive Barker will be there! If that’s not enough – how about a Scream reunion with Neve Campbell, Matthew Lillard, and Jamie Kennedy?? Two guests that I’m really looking forward to that I’ve never seen at a convention are John Carroll Lynch (American Horror Story, Fargo) and legendary guitarist John 5 (Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson). FYI – there will be a FREE afterparty Saturday night (with a wristband from the day) that will have a performance from John 5!
Aside from the celebrity guests, expect to have special panels announced soon, as well as some special screenings. One thing that Monsterpalooza is doing differently this year that I think is pretty cool, is that they’re letting you pre-order your Photo Ops online beforehand. Most of the bigger celebs will be participating, so go to the site HERE for more info as it’s added. And get your tickets for MonsterpaloozaHEREbecause there is a good chance that tickets will sell out online!
Can you feel that? No, it’s not another minor California earthquake……it’s the excitement building for this year’s Monsterpalooza convention creeping it’s way back into Pasadena in April! Easily my favorite convention to attend, it perfectly blends the worlds of ‘horror’ and ‘makeup effects’ to give the convention crowd a once in a lifetime experience.
So, I know you are wondering…..who’s going to be there? Well, no one really…….except Bruce Campbell, Linda Blair, Henry Thomas (part of an E.T. reunion), Kane Hodder, Chris Sarandon, and more! Did I mention Bruce Campbell?!? Groovy. In addition to the special guests, there will be tons of vendors and presentations……not to mention several booths where you can see the art of makeup effects being applied to models in person! If you’re curious in knowing more about this year’s Monsterpalooza convention taking place April 12th-14th, head over HERE for more info and links to purchase tickets (fyi, online sales will most likely sell out…..so get them now). See you there!
