Get Ready – ‘Monsterpalooza’ Is Coming Back To Pasadena!!

Robert Englund. Bruce Campbell. Oh, do I have your attention now? Because if you choose to go to the always great….never duplicated….best convention around called Monsterpalooza this coming June 2nd through the 4th in Pasadena – you will have the chance to meet both of these horror icons! That’s right, Monsterpalooza is back and better than ever. It’s my favorite horror convention to frequent, and this year they have Freddy….Ash….and one of my favorites, Doug Jones….Kane Hodder….and more to still be announced!

Now, as of me writing this – there are VERY limited spots available for professional photo-ops with Robert and Bruce, but there are still plenty of other celebs you can snap a pic with AND get your favorite horror merch signed to boot. In addition to that – there will be cosplayers, tons of spooky vendors, makeup demonstrations and showcases, and panel Q&As with all of the already mentioned horror talent!

Just buy a 3-day pass and thank me later. And speaking of, you can go HERE to purchase your tickets. Be warned – they will sell out, so snatch em’ up now. Monsterpalooza is going to be the place to be in June, and you don’t want to regret it when you see all of your friends posting their super fun pics on social media. So hit the link above and get to it. I will scare you there!

‘Son Of Monsterpalooza’ Returns To Burbank On October 14th-16th!

Tom Atkins. That’s all you really need to know. But I guess I’ll expand more on why I’m mentioning the legend’s name. It’s because Son Of Monsterpalooza is returning to Burbank, California on October 14th-16th! It’s in October, so it’s pretty much a no-brainer that you need to attend. Need more convincing? Tom Atkins. Ok, I’ll convince you even more though……

How about a Weird Science reunion with Anthony Michael Hall, Ilan Mitchell-Smith, and Robert Rusler?? Still want more? Ok…..then how about a Nightmare On Elm Street 3 reunion with a plethora of the original Dream Warriors in attendance?? Now I see you nodding your head. But wait…..Tom Atkins! Third time mentioning him and it doesn’t get old, but not only will the man and his mustache be there….but so will his Halloween III co-star Stacy Nelkin AND director Tommy Lee Wallace!

In addition to those mentioned guests and many more to be announced, Son Of Monsterpalooza will sport, as usual, some of the best horror-themed vendors around and some of the best full-on displays of makeup effects too! This is always one of my favorite conventions, so go HERE to see more info and grab your tickets. That weekend could sell out, so don’t say I didn’t warn you! Tom Atkins!!

‘Monsterpalooza’ Is Coming Back To Pasadena June 3-5!!!

Finally!! Finally we are getting somewhat back to normal and horror conventions are popping back up! And there is no bigger horror convention this year, than the gore-ious spectacle that is Monsterpalooza! And it’s all going down at The Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California on June 3-5.

Now….not much has been revealed so far about special guests, but I can tell you that Pinhead himself Doug Bradley will be there! And how about Jason Voorhees himself Kane Hodder! Make sure to ask him to choke you. More guests, panels, and events will be announced in the next few months – but for now just know that you’ll see a ton of ghoulish vendors, amazing make-up artists, and spooky special exhibits. And don’t forget to dress up! Just because it’s happening in the summer, doesn’t mean you can’t put your freaky makeup and costumes on.

Coming back to Burbank (that’s in California for those who don’t know) once again September 13th-15th, Son Of Monsterpalooza already has the ‘Master Of Italian Horror‘ Dario Argento getting top-billing so far on the celebrity front.  In addition to him, you can also see a full-blown Phantasm 40th Anniversary Reunion – including creator/writer/director Don Coscarelli and the majority of the cast from the original film! (RIP Angus Scrimm)

Did someone say they liked Terminator 2: Judgement Day?  Well, it’s a good thing then that Robert Patrick and Edward Furlong (along with other cast members) will be in attendance and have a panel on Sunday!  Oh, did I mention Billy Zane is going to be at the convention too?  Billy Zane!!  I love Demon Knight……sorry.

I highly suggest that you purchase tickets in advance for Son Of Monsterpalooza HERE on their website, because there is a good chance that it sells out.  You can also see the full schedule rundown and celebrity lineup (with more to be added).  Oh – I almost forgot. Review: ‘Son Of Monsterpalooza’ Convention (Burbank, CA) 2018

Ok.  Now I’m officially ready for the Halloween season.  And why, you ask?  Because the latest Son Of Monsterpalooza convention got me in the mood (insert sexy horror music here).  I was lucky enough to be there most of the weekend, and once again – this convention didn’t disappoint!

The thing that I love about Son Of Monsterpalooza (and it’s father, Monsterpalooza) – is that it focuses on the literal art of makeup FX.  You can see numerous booths set up with actual live makeup and prosthetics being applied to models as you walk around the convention, adding to the overall atmosphere.  Aside from that, celebrities were in attendance as well (Kathy Najimy, Piper Laurie, Lance Henriksen, etc) – and it’s always fun to take a trip down memory lane while you have them sign some of your favorite memorabilia.  Did I mention that Tony Todd was among the celebs there doing a free poster signing for his new movie, Hell Fest??

Probably my favorite part of this year’s Son Of Monsterpalooza were the Son Of Conjoined rooms that were filled with some amazing art and sculptures (not to mention it was super cool in there if you needed relief from the heat).  I found myself going through each more than once, with a nice touch at the end of one of the rooms being a creepy display for The Nun (with a little live actor surprise involved).   All in all, Son Of Monsterpalooza once again delivered in every way possible.  Now, bring on Monsterpalooza early next year!

One of my favorite conventions to go to, especially before the Halloween season gets into full swing, is Son Of Monsterpalooza!  With the yearly favorite Monsterpalooza giving birth to this spawn a few years back – it gives the crowd another chance to witness some of the best in makeup fx, horrifyingly awesome costumes and cosplay, and your favorite celebrities from the past and present!
