Find Of The Week: Rare Japanese Promotional Item For ‘Dead Alive’ (1992)

It pains me to not be able to put the ‘Ebay’ in front of ‘Find Of The Week’ for this post today, because that means what I’m about to talk about is sadly not for sale at the moment.  Upon searching for photos of Peter Jackson’s classic gorefest Dead Alive (aka Braindead) yesterday, I stumbled across a legit picture of a randomly amazing promotional item for the Japanese release of the 1992 film on VHS.  Thanks to Ghoul Basement for the info, below is a pic of an inflatable version of the maniacal face-ripping baby that you apparently could have owned if you lived in Japan.

Easily one of the best promotional movie items I’ve ever seen.  But it’s such a tease!  The tease being because you basically can’t find one and I would imagine that if one of these babies showed up on Ebay, they would go for a pretty price.  So unfortunately, all we can really do is just stare at the pic and imagine what it would be like to have a creepy inflatable Dead Alive baby in our possession.  Just don’t stare at the pic too long, because then not only is the inflatable Dead Alive baby creepy, but you are too.

Rare Promotional Annabelle Dolls From ‘The Conjuring’ Up On Ebay…..For A Price

With February 14th almost right around the corner, it’s never too early to start shopping for that perfect Valentine’s gift for your significant other.  And if you’d like to scare the shit out them this year, I have the perfect gift for you!

For those who have seen The Conjuring, you know that the Annabelle doll only inhabits a small portion of the movie, but is creepily effective for that short amount of time. So much so, that it’s getting it’s own spin-off movie as a reward for that creepiness.  And apparently, to celebrate the recent Blu-ray release of The Conjuring, a rare 12-inch replica of the Annabelle doll was being sold along with the disc. As far as promotional items go for movies, this one’s pretty sweet.  Only problem is that it’ll cost you to grab one off of Ebay.

There are only about three of these up right now for sale, so you can understand the rarity, with the ending price usually being around $200.  A small price to pay for something that can freak out anyone who comes into your home.  If you’re interested, I’m providing a link to one of them HERE!

Horror Holiday Gifts: Rare ‘Critters’ VHS Display From 1986!

What do you get the horror fan in your life that already has everything?  Why you get them a rare video store standee from the 1986 sci-fi/horror flick Critters, that’s what!

On Ebay right now, someone is selling a vintage display that was used to promote Critters when it made it’s debut on VHS back in 1986.  You remember VHS tapes, right?  Standing about 4 feet tall and holding the actual video cassette case from the movie, this standee is actually that kind of thing that I love Ebay for.  I remember seeing this exact one in my local Mom & Pop video store growing up and if I had the room, I just might slap a bid down on this cheesy piece of nostalgia.

What perfect timing too, because with the holidays right around the corner, maybe you can surprise that special Critters fan who’s always wanted something like this.  Or you’ll get it for them and they’ll look at you confused and say “What the hell did you get me this for?”  You’ll get a reaction either way!  There are three days left to bid and at the time I’m posting this, the bid is at $100.  Head on over right HERE and take a look.  Beats the hell out of getting someone another pair of socks.
