Ok – well maybe not Broadway. How about Toronto? Yes, following in the footsteps of The Evil Dead and Re-Animator musicals, we now have a stage version of George Romero’s non-copywritten classic, Night Of The Living Dead.
Now while I wasn’t really on board with The Evil Dead musical, but actually heard great things about the Re-Animator one, I have to say that I’m pretty intrigued by this NOTLD concept. First off, this is not a musical. Second, the entire show was designed in black and white. And third, George Romero is actually an executive producer on the project. Which could be good or bad considering his recent track record I guess. Nevertheless, I commend all those involved with doing something different with the NOTLD brand instead of just throwing out another shit sequel or redux onto DVD. So if you’re lucky enough to be in the Toronto area between April 23-May 19 this upcoming year, head over HERE for more info and ticket prices. As long as we get to hear whoever is playing Sheriff McClelland say “Yeah, they’re dead. They’re all messed up”, I’d be a happy camper!
