I Seem To Have ‘The Brain’ On My Brain…..

Quick.  What’s the best horror movie about a gigantic man-eating brain?!?  Ahhh – if you didn’t say 1988’s Canadian horror yuck-fest The Brain, then you can see yourself out the door.  I hadn’t thought about this movie in ages.  I remember watching the VHS copy when I was like 12.  And although the premise is about as stupid as you would think for an 80’s horror movie (TV show host brainwashes his viewers and plans to rule the world), I dug the hell out of The Brain!

Cut to why I’m writing about it now, and that would be because one of the best resin toy makers in the game, Deadly Delivery (a collab effort of Retroband and Zectron), recently released a mini version of our favorite man-eating brain!  You can catch a glimpse HERE, but unfortunately it is now sold out.  But it really got me to thinking about this movie.  And it really got me to thinking about how it needs a proper Blu-ray release too.  It never even received a proper DVD release either (sad frowny face).

So let’s all put our brains together and think about how we can make this happen.  More people need to see The Brain!  It’s common knowledge.  Oh, I know what we can do!  We can take it to the streets like they did in the 60’s.  I’m sure no one would be annoyed if I was preaching the greatness of The Brain through a megaphone while shoving clips from the movie in people’s faces as they walk out of Target after shopping.  But until we win the battle of getting this underrated 80’s horror gem it’s Blu-ray due, why don’t you just search on Youtube to watch the movie in full.  I’ll allow it.

This Mini Figure Of The Troll From ‘Cat’s Eye’ Is Going To Take Your Breath Away!

Apologies for the lame ‘stealing breath’ reference in the post title.  But anyway, if you’re familiar with Retroband (The company that has made numerous awesome horror themed figures over the last few years), then you should know that they have an offshoot project entitled Deadly Delivery going on where mini figures have been produced of everything from the Necronomicon book of Evil Dead fame to Belial from Basket Case.  And coming soon……….drumroll please……….The little troll from Cat’s Eye!

Alright!  No word on what color it will be painted or anything, but I would be cool with that clay-colored version personally.  This was posted on the Deadly Delivery Instagram page a few weeks ago, so if you want to follow the updates then you can do so HERE.  On a sidenote, I really need to revisit Cat’s Eye soon.  It was always a favorite of mine growing up, and holds a special place in my PG-13 horror heart.  Stay tuned for more info on the mini troll figure from Deadly Delivery and make sure to hold your breath after you order it. Retroband Does It Again: C.H.U.D. Figure On Sale 4/30

After artist Aaron Moreno released his Farmer Vincent ‘Motel Hell‘ figure via a special lottery a while back, I thought that I had seen it all as far as what he would come up with next.  And then I get wind that Aaron and his Retroband brand have taken it straight to the sewers and to 1984’s guilty pleasure of mine, C.H.U.D. for his next release.

The figure has been unveiled and looks great!  It even has UV glowing lights and the package card alone is enough to get the excitement juices flowing!  In the past, Retroband’s figures have been very limited, but no word on how limited this C.H.U.D. release will be or how much it will cost. EDIT:  55 figures will be available at $80 a pop.  They go on sale today (4/30) at 7PM CST so follow Retroband on Instagram for more details HERE.

Retroband Reveals A ‘Motel Hell’ Action Figure!

Yes.  You read the headline correctly.  The man/company that I brag and boast about on my site, Retroband, is releasing an action figure based on the Farmer Vincent character from the 1980 B-movie classic, Motel Hell.

Not much more needs to be said really.  If you’re not impressed by that, you deserve to be castrated.  A little extreme?  Possibly.  But the work that Retroband keeps churring out is pretty impressive, so a castration seems fitting if you don’t like this Motel Hell action figure.  This piece is very limited, as are all of their products, so good luck trying to snag one.  Stay tuned to Retroband’s Instagram page HERE for updates on how to get it and for details on future releases as well!
