Why The ‘Angel In The Church’ Scene From ‘Midnight Mass’ Is One Of My Favorite Things Ever!

Ah yes – Midnight Mass! No, not that stupid thing that my parents would make me go to on Christmas Eve. I’m talking about the much better Midnight Mass series on Netflix from Mike Flanagan. Yeah, the same Mike Flanagan who did The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor. Now I know that Midnight Mass isn’t necessarily new, but when Waxwork Records announced that it was releasing the series’ soundtrack on vinyl (done by The Newton Brothers btw) – it got me to thinking about the show again! And what sprang into my mind right away was that glorious entrance of the angel (Or…ummm…vampire? Or vamp-angel?) into the church:

Oh, when those wings pop out! But seriously, I love everything about that scene – and the nuttiness that happens shortly thereafter. I would actually not mind a spin-off or something with that thing. AH! And I mentioned earlier about the new Waxwork Records release of the Midnight Mass soundtrack! It’s a pretty spiffy release on 3LPs AND on snazzy colors to boot. You can order it HERE and it’s shipping now! Well, not right this second. You have to buy it first, silly – and then it will probably ship after.

Go Grab This Waxwork Records Release Of ‘The Prowler’ Soundtrack On Vinyl!

Can you feel that in the air?  It’s love!  Because Valentine’s Day is only about a month away!  Yeah, yeah.  It’s a fake holiday.  But, why not cuddle up with that special someone this year and put the soundtrack from the 1981 slasher flick The Prowler on the ol’ turntable and wait for the magic to happen.  Oh you didn’t know??  Waxwork Records has released Richard Einhorn’s score to the beloved Tom Savini effects heavy film (some of his best work in my opinion) on double ‘army green/rose petal splatter‘ vinyl!

It’s glorious!  Oh, I forget to mention a very important tidbit:  The ridiculously good artwork was done by none other than Ghoulish Gary Pullin!  Also included is a printed insert featuring Rosemary’s break-up letter (the movie also goes by the title Rosemary’s Killer btw).  So, if you’re looking for a somewhat romantic gift (there are rose petals on the cover) for that horror-lover in your life……head on over to Waxwork Records HERE to pick it up!  Speaking of head, let’s enjoy this clip below for my favorite kill in The Prowler:

5 Things I’m Thankful For This Year……

Time to loosen up the belt buckle after eating 15 pounds of turkey and stuffing with heavy gravy and give thanks for a few things.  And what am I thankful for? Well I’m glad you asked!  Because here are my five things that I am thankful for this year.    Continue reading

Waxwork Records Releasing ‘Chopping Mall’ Soundtrack For Pre-Order July 1st

It doesn’t get more B-movie than 1986’s Chopping Mall.  Killer security robots, big boobs, and exploding heads = a good time!  And now all of that cheesiness from the movie is coming straight to vinyl courtesy of Waxwork Records.  That’s right – they are releasing the glorious synthy soundtrack for Chopping Mall and you can pre-order it on July 1st.

There will be two versions available:  a non-limited run of 180 gram fluorescent pink vinyl and a limited run of 500, incorporating neon yellow with neon green haze into the vinyl color.  Both variations will have art design from the Australian duo, We Buy Your Kids.  Everything, except the pink fluorescent vinyl can be seen below, so make sure to head over to Waxwork Records on July 1st to pre-order your copy!

Ebay Find Of The Week: Rare ‘Creepshow’ Promo Display

I love anything that has to do with Creepshow.  I even strangely love cockroaches more because of this movie.  So when I come across something cool that’s branded with the Creepshow name, I immediately get giddy.  Case in point:  I just snatched up the Waxwork Records amazing vinyl release for the soundtrack.  If you snoop around on Ebay, you can find more Creepshow hidden gems, like this rare promo display to commemorate it’s release to theaters back in 1982:

Sweet.  And if you’re lucky, this particular seller might throw in the Strawberry Shortcake blanket in the background.  There are actually a few of these up on Ebay, so seek out the best deal and the one that’s in the best condition.  Not all of them have the probability of getting a Strawberry Shortcake blanket included in the deal though. Click HERE to see this particular item and if you read this post in the next 10 minutes, run over to Waxwork Records and grab one of the vinyl albums before they’re gone!

Retro Randomness: Waxwork Records Bringing ‘Chopping Mall’ Soundtrack To Vinyl!

If you don’t own a turntable, you may want to bounce over to Ebay and snatch one up.  Why you ask?  Well, because Waxwork Records is going to be releasing the soundtrack to 1986’s killer robot movie, Chopping Mall!  Yeah, move over Creepshow (which they will be releasing soon as well), there’s a new king in town.  And that king is coming strapped with a cheesy 80’s synthy soundtrack courtesy of Chuck Cirino.

It doesn’t get more ridiculous and retro than Chopping Mall.  Not sure I’ve really been fiending for the soundtrack on vinyl, but fuck it.  It’s Chopping Mall!  And one thing that makes Waxwork Records stand out from other vinyl distributors is they really take their releases seriously and provide great artwork and limited variant versions of the records as well.  Is it too much to ask for a variant somehow incorporating Barbara Crampton’s breasts in a design?  Probably, but stay tuned to Waxwork Records for more details coming soon.
